Green Hydrogen Tech AS
Green Hydrogen Tech AS is a small size enterprise, which aims to invest in HRSs in the northern regions of Norway. The company can be considered as a new start up which holds a strong belief in hydrogen as the energy carrier of the future.
Hydrogen powers the future
GHTech is launching a pilot project to establish a hydrogen infrastructure in Northern-Norway. The Norwegian government has established a framework that dictates that Norway will cut emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2005. A way to reach this goal is changing from vehicles run on fossil fuel to vehicles powered by electricity, either through batteries or hydrogen fuel.
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) are important as they have a larger range than electric battery vehicles and they are environmentally benign. FCEV take up is currently hampered by the high cost of FCEVs, lack of demand for initial refueling infrastructure and the need to make hydrogen cheaper through more effective hydrogen production, storage and distribution.
The market is still young, and the best way to establish ourselves would be through a Pilot Project that includes municipalities and transportation companies in Harstad, Narvik and Tromsø. From there we can open to private car owners, and expand to other cities in Northern-Norway. The hydrogen market is growing internationally, especially in Germany and Japan, and we can open for export in the future.
